A TikTok claims vampire films are a recession indicator. The naive correlation agrees. Filtering both series, using the right denominator, and comparing against twenty placebo genres removes it. The one thing that survives is that vampire output follows bad years in the stock market, which is closer to what Marx predicted than what the TikTok did.
